Attorney Wayne Crumwell of Reidsville, NC; slacker, repeat offender

The state of North Carolina provided Wayne E. Crumwell with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Campbell University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar has found Wayne guilty of the following misconduct.

Wayne’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to maintain adequate records of client funds
• Failed to pay property taxes as directed by clients
• Failed to pay $5,900 to IRS to pay seller tax liens on client’s behalf
• Failed to timely pay client medical providers after settlement received
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As a consequence of his misconduct the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Wayne by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Wayne.

Wayne’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to disclose personal monetary judgments on mediator applications
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of his misconduct the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Wayne by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
