The state of North Carolina provided Allan C. De Laine with a law license in 1997.

 

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Allan guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide client with written contingency fee agreement
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of her case
  • Failed to act with due diligence
  • Neglected client’s case
  • Failed to adequately pursue settlement negotiations on client’s behalf
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to obtain client’s informed consent regarding actions Allan took in her case
  • Presented falsified verification of client’s signature to notary for notarization
  • Failed to obtain required court approval to withdraw from client’s case
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to comply with client requests for information
  • Knowingly forged client’s signature
  • Failed to take steps to protect client’s interests prior to withdrawal
  • Misconduct caused significant harm to his client

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Allan by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. June 2015) Allan practices in Clayton, North Carolina.
