Attorney James Lenney of Herkimer, NY; slacker, loser

The Law State of New York provided James R. Lenney with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the Albany School of Law.

The Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on his fitness as a lawyer
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Intentionally prejudiced or damaged a client during the course of the professional relationship
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  • Intentionally failed to carry out a contract of employment entered into with a client for professional services
  • Failed to keep a client reasonably informed about the status of a matter
  • Failed to comply with a client's reasonable requests for information
  • Represented multiple clients with differing interests without disclosing the implications of the simultaneous representation and obtaining from each affected client informed consent to the representation, confirmed in writing
  • Failed to pay or deliver to a client in a prompt manner as requested by the client the funds, securities or
  • other properties

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Appellate Division Disciplinary Panel punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2023), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law at 412 North Prospect Street in Herkimer, New York.
