The state of New York provided Paul Michael Shanley with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Boston College School of Law.

 

FYI: Paulie has previously received five (5) letters of caution and three (3) admonitions for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

 

The Grievance Committee of the 5th Judicial Department found Paulie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

 

Paulie’s 9th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Misappropriated [stole] funds belonging to another person
  • Failed to carry out a contract of employment entered into with a client for professional services
  • Failed to inform a client of material developments in a matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

 

Paulie’s 10th bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Falsely advised executrix that the defendants in the civil action had agreed to settle the matter for $9,000
  • Intentionally failed to carry out a contract of employment entered into with a client for professional services
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. June 2021), Paulie practices his brand of law at 100 West Utica Street in Oswego, New York.
