Attorney Gaspar Castillo of Albany, NY; repeat offender

The state of New York presented Gaspar M. Castillo with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the Albany School of Law.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit found Gaspar guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Repeated defaults in case involving two clients
  • Negligence led to removal of case involving Steven Ray Morgan
  • Failed to file documents in timely manner
  • Failed to cure defects contained in appellate briefs
  • Failed to respond to inquires from clerk’s office
  • Failed to timely respond to show cause order for contempt
  • Put client at serious risk of prejudice
  • Wasted appellate court’s time and resources
  • Cause unnecessary expense to public

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Gaspar’s First bite at the Attorney Misconduct Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary private reprimand from the Court of Appeals for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals punished Gaspar by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and a two-year ban from practicing as Criminal Justice Act counsel before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

As we speak (ca. April 2016), Gaspar practices at 817 Madison Avenue in Albany, New York.
