Attorney Anthony Avallone of Las Cruces, NM; ambulance chasing aficionado

The state of New Mexico presented Anthony F. Avallone with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from Columbia University School of Law.

The New Mexico Disciplinary Board found Tony guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated ethics rules by placing signs in front of his law office advertising both his law office and his realty company
  • At a meeting in Las Cruces violated ethics rules on advertising, direct or indirect and stirring up litigation [ambulance chasing]
  • At group meeting, Tony improperly solicited professional employment either directly or indirectly
  • At the group meeting, improperly advised the assembled group that he would represent them as their attorney on a contingency basis
  • Met with a group of persons concerned with problems of urban renewal and spoke to the group on condemnation procedures advising them of their rights and volunteered advice to bring lawsuits
  • Tony’s conduct at the group meeting was such as to incite the group and stir up strife and litigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2021), Tony practices at 2103 South Espina Street in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
