Attorney David Proper of Carlsbad, NM; moronic slacker

The State of New Mexico presented David Proper with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from New Mexico State University School of Law.

The New Mexico Disciplinary Board found Davey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Davey!)
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to inform or prepare client for court-scheduled hearing
  • Failure to submit required affidavit to the court as required by the New Mexico Administrative Code resulted in no attorney fees being award to his client in his successful discrimination lawsuit against the Loyal Order of Moose
  • Failed to advise client of court award of May until October of that year
  • Failed to appear for meeting he scheduled with a client at his office
  • Failed to account for where he maintained money awarded to his client from the time of his receipt of same up to the time he paid said funds to the client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Mexico Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. August 2019) Davey practices with the Borderland Law Center LLC in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
