Attorney Joel Ziegler of Maplewood, NJ; ethical elf

The state of New Jersey presented Joel S. Ziegler with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from Seton Hall University Law School.

The New Jersey Office of Ethics found Joel guilty of the following misconduct.

• Told client’s wife in domestic case that she should be “cut up into little pieces … put in a box and sent back to India
• Wrote letter to adversary accusing adversary’s client of being an “unmitigated liar”
• Threatened to file ethics charges against his adversary

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Joel by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Joel practices at 1973 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, New Jersey, which is located in Essex County.
