Attorney Sean Sexton of Jersey City, NJ; ethical misfit

The state of New Jersey presented Sean Robert Sexton with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from Pace University School of Law. Sean also received a license to practice in New York in 2004.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Sean guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while ineligible to do so
  • Failed to comply with his obligation to the New Jersey Lawyers’ Fund for Client Protection
  • Failed to comply with his CLE (Continuing Legal Education) requirements
  • Sean improperly represented a client in a domestic violence matter in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson County

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Sean by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. December 2022), Sean practices his so-called brand of law in Jersey City, New Jersey.
