The state of New Jersey presented William J. Munier with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law.

 

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Billy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed about status of matter
  • Failed to promptly comply with reasonable requests for information
  • Engaged in gross neglect
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Engaged in impermissible fee sharing
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to withdraw from the representation if the representation would result in violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct or other law
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in the unauthorized practice of law
  • Committed a criminal act that reflects adversely on the Billy’s honesty, trustworthiness, or fitness as a lawyer in other respects
  • Authorized another in the unauthorized practice of law
  • Improperly compensate someone for having made a recommendation resulting in the Billy’s employment by a client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.    

 

As we speak (ca. March 2022), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of James J. McGuire, Jr. at 86 Court Street in Freehold, New Jersey.
