Attorney Scott Rosenthal of Paterson, NJ; cheating slacker

The state of New Jersey  presented Scott D. Rosenthal with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Scotty guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in gross neglect
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Engaged in a pattern of neglect
  • Failed to inform a prospective client about how, when and where to communicate with him
  • Failed to explain matter to extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions about the representation
  • Charged a clearly unreasonable fee (cheater)
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Failed to set forth in writing basis or rate of fee
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Scotty!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Scotty by gifting him  with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2018), Scotty practices at 225 East 30th Street in Paterson, New Jersey.
