Attorney Maria Rivero of Harrison, NJ; dishonest slacker

The state of New Jersey presented Maria J. Rivero with a law license in 1992.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Maria guilty of the following misconduct

• Counseled or assisted client in conduct he knew was illegal, criminal or fraudulent
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Failed to memorialize rate or basis of his fee
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation

As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Maria by gifting her with a complimentary 3-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2016) Maria practices at 201 Frank E. Rodgers Blvd in Harrison, New Jersey.
