Attorney Michael R. Griffin of Carson City, NV; Apologist for Judicial Misfits

The state of Nevada presented Michael R. Griffin with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from the University of San Francisco.

For approximately 28 years, Michael Griffin sat as a District Court Judge in Carson City.

During his tenure on the bench, Judge Griffin was the Commissioner of the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline. The Commission is allegedly in the business of disciplining Judicial Misfits. Unfortunately, its abysmal record clearly evidences an agency that is primarily concerned with acting as enablers and apologists for Nevada judges who have engaged in egregious misconduct.

While sitting as the Commissioner, Judge Griffin had the chutzpah to cast a dissenting vote for the removal of Judge Francis Anne-Fine. As to the egregious nature of Judge Anne-Fine’s misconduct, see the URL at the end of this article.

Griffin didn’t spell out exactly what punishment he would have meted out to Judge Fine, but I suspect it would have been a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2012) Griffin practices law at 510 West 4th Street in Carson City, Nevada.
