Attorney Richard Gillespie of Helena, MT; slacker, loser

The state of Montana presented Richard G. Gillespie with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Montana School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel of Montana found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to meet deadline for filing answer to complaint on client’s behalf
• Negligence clearly led to obviously prejudice client
• Court entered default judgment against client due to Dick’s negligence
• Significant monetary judgment entered against client because of Dick’s negligence

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Montana Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment.
