Attorney James Boggs of Kansas City, MO; ethical ogre

The state of Missouri presented James D. Boggs with a law license in 1975 after he graduated from St. Louis University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to deposit into a client trust account legal fees and expenses that have been paid in advance
  • Failed to maintain records of client trust accounts for a period of at least six years
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year term of probation and assessed disciplinary costs of $1,000.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Jimmy fails to disclose the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.boggslaw.com. Apparently, he decided to conceal said relevant facts from prospective clients to prevent limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. February 2021), Jimmy practices his brand of law with the The Boggs Law Firm LLC at 6406 North Cosby Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
