Attorney Steven Aakre of Moorhead, MN; ethical goblin

The state of Minnesota presented Steven K. Aakre with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Stevie’s law firm fails to mention his misconduct on its self-serving website at www.stefansonlaw.com. Apparently, the firm decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients in order to not limit its future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Stevie practices with Stefanson, Plambeck & Foss at 403 Center Avenue in Moorhead, Minnesota.
