Attorney Kelly Sater of Forest Lake, MN; ethical goblin

The state of Minnesota presented Kelly Moore Sater with a law license in 2011 after she graduated from William Mitchell College School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Kelly guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Allowed office staff to improperly use notary stamp and affix her signature on at least two occasions
  • Inaccurately attested she had witnessed a signature on a prior date
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Kelly by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand and assessed $900.00 in costs.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Kelly practices with Johnson/Turner Legal at 56 E. Broadway Avenue in Forest Lake, Minnesota.

As one would suspect, the Johnson/Turner firm fails to mention said misconduct on his self-serving website at www.johnsonturner.com.  Apparently, the firm decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so as to not limit his future victim pool.
