The state of Minnesota presented Richard Lee Swanson with a law license in 1986.

 

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Dick’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dick!)
  • Failed to timely file appeal on client’s behalf

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Dick’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to appear for hearings
  • Failed to adequately communicate with clients
  • Made false statement (lied) to client
  • Failed to refund unearned client retainers (crook)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. October 2015), Dick practices in Chaska, Minnesota.
