Attorney Mark Cobb of Southfield, MI; ethical misfit

The state of Michigan presented Mark Cobb with a law license in 2011 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #56 found Mark guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct that was contrary to justice, ethics, honesty, or good morals
  • Engaged in conduct that exposed the legal profession or the courts to obloquy, contempt, censure, or reproach
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted, or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Committed professional misconduct through his improper use of his two IOLTA accounts held at Chase Bank
  • Mark held funds other than client or third person funds in an IOLTA account
  • Improperly deposited his own funds into an IOLTA in an amount more than reasonably necessary to pay financial institution service charges or fees

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Michigan Supreme Court punished Todd by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed investigate costs of $758.36.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Mark practices his so-called brand of law with the Cobb Law Firm at 26677 West 12 Mile Road in Southfield, Michigan.
