Attorney Robert Canner of Southfield, MI; slacker, loser

The state of Michigan presented Robert A. Canner with a law license in 1968 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Ingham County Hearing Panel #7 found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to seek lawful client objectives
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to promptly notify a third person that funds or property in which a third person has an interest were received
  • Failed to promptly pay or deliver any funds or other property that a third person is entitled to receive
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to assure underlings conformed their conduct in accordance with the Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Entered into an agreement that the complainant [victim] withdraw request for ethics investigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license and assessed investigative costs of $5,366.90.

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Bobby practices his so-called brand of law with Canner, Canner & Rowady PC at 24423 Southfield Road in Southfield, Michigan.
