Attorney L. David Bush of Berkley, MI; lying loser

The state of Michigan presented L. David Bush with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Detroit School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #52 found Davey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Knowingly failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Davey!)
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in undignified and discourteous conduct towards a tribunal
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a third person
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct by knowingly assisting or inducing another to do so, or doing so through the acts of another
  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact to a tribunal, in violation of MRPC
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to promptly comply with client information requests
  • Failed to explain the matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license effective November 18, 2020 and assessed investigative costs of $1,969.96.

As we speak (ca. April 2022), Davey will resume practicing his brand of law in Berkley, Michigan in October 2022.
