The state of Michigan presented James L. Galen Jr. with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Law.

The Washtenaw County Hearing Panel #5 found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Pled guilty to violations of use of cocaine, in three matters

  • Neglected client’s criminal matter by failing to appear for two consecutive hearings
  • Ordered to pay $1,750 in restitution to former clients [victims]

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 120-day suspension of his law license effective April 1, 2020 and assessed costs of the investigation of $8,83.96

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Jimmy will resume his practice with the Law Offices of James L. Galen Jr. at 21321 Cass Avenue in early October 2020.
