The state of Michigan presented Edward J. Gudeman with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #66 found Eddie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Took loans against funds in his office trust account that contained client funds
• Failed to maintain properly executed documentation evidence the terms of a loan with his client
• Entered into business transaction or knowingly acquired an ownership, possessory, security,, or other pecuniary interest that was adverse to his client
• Failed to preserve complete records of client’s funds and other property for a period of five years after he was terminated

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Eddie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and assessed $1,093.38 in costs.
