Attorney Carl Collins III of Southfield, MI; ethical gremlin

The state of Michigan presented Carl L. Collins III with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Detroit Law School.

The Tri-County Hearing Panel #81 found Carl guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to seek lawful objectives of client through available means permitted by law
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to ensure firm had in effect measures giving reasonable assurance that all lawyers in the firm conformed to the Rule sof Professional Conduct
• Failed to maintain funds other than clients or third persons in proper trust account
• Deposited own funds in client trust account in excess of amount reasonably necessary to pay financial institution service charges

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Carl by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2017), Carl practices at 20755 Greenfield Road in Southfield, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit.
