Attorney John Brusstar of Grosse Pointe, MI; slacker, repeat offender

 

The state of Michigan presented John W. Brusstar with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Michigan State University Law School.

 

The Tri-County Hearing Panel found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Johnny’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep clients informed as to status of legal matter
  • Failed to explain matters to extent necessary for client to make informed decisions re: representation
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct and/or knowingly assisted or induced another to do
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to file any pleadings on behalf of at least five (5) clients

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 179-day suspension of his law license.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to seek client’s lawful objectives
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct and/or knowingly assisted or induced another to do

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
