Attorney Kim Carnevale of Salem, MA; ethical troll

The state of Massachusetts presented Kim Gibson Carnevale with a law license in 1970 after she graduated from Suffolk University School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Kimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to deposit the client’s $2,500 retainer into her IOLTA trust account
  • Cashed client’s $2,500 check even though she knew she had earned no more than a few hundred dollars
  • Intentionally converted at least $2,000 of client funds to her own use (cheater)
  • Failed to timely send the client an itemized bill of the services she had performed
  • Failed to promptly deliver client file and failed to put the disputed funds in escrow
  • Failed for at least three months, to have an account other than her IOLTA account and used the IOLTA as her personal account
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Kimmy by gifting her with a complimentary 3-month suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2021), Kimmy practices her brand of law with the Carnevale Law Offices at 2 Margin Street in Salem, Massachusetts.
