The state of Indiana presented Thomas J. Barrett with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the University of School of Law.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Tommy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Retained approximately $10,000 in interest in his lawyer trust account that belonged to other people or entities he had previously represented
• Failed to properly reconcile his trust account for several decades

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 3-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Board of Bar Overseers didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Tommy.
