Attorney James Scott of Baltimore, MD; ethical misfit

The state of Maryland presented James L. Scott with a law license in 200 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Jimmy guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to enter his appearance on behalf of seven clients in post-conviction proceedings paneled to him by the Office of the Public Defender
• Jimmy did not appear at his client’s post-conviction hearing, necessitating an attorney with the Office of the Public Defender to appear instead and request a continuance

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2022), Jimmy practices his so-called brand of law with the Law Office of James L. Scott at 1 North Charles Street in Baltimore, Maryland.
