Attorney Eric Benzer of Baltimore; slacker

The state of Maryland presented Eric J. Benzer with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Eric guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Allowed for the use of his name to solicit Maryland clients by two out-of-state law firms 
• Failed to communicate basis or rate of his fee to client
• Failed to maintain written fee agreement for client’s matter
• Failed to obtain client’s original signatures on her bankruptcy petition prior to filing the petition with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Eric by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2017) Eric practices with the Benzer Legal Group LLC at 2833 Smith Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland.
