Attorney C. Peter Bos of Bangor, ME; repeat offender

The state of Maine presented C. Peter Bos with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from Drake University Law School.
The Maine Grievance Commission found Peter guilty of the following misconduct.
C. Peter began representing a vulnerable client (Ms. J) in what can charitably be characterized as a predatory mortgage transaction. Although he didn’t originate the loan transaction, C. Peter failed to properly advise his client and protect her from the undue influence of a third-party, Mr. Hibbert.
Several years prior to this matter, Hibbert increased his control over Ms. J’s finances and assets. During his representation, C. Peter discovered a Lincoln indictment related to Hibbert’s theft from his mother. C. Peter admitted that during his first meeting with Ms. J and Hibbert, he noticed that Ms. J was heavily influenced by Hibbert. During the disciplinary process, C. Peter admitted that should have known his client was so vulnerable and impaired that the transaction about which he was advising her should have been terminated.
C. Peter absolutely knew that Hibbert would receive funds from Ms. J’s mortgage loan. C. Peter wired those funds to accounts described by Hibbert without ever consulting Ms. J. C. Peter admits his serious failure to protect Ms. J and her financial interests, and his negligent representation of Ms. J caused her severe harm.
As one would suspect, this wasn’t C. Peter’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) complimentary reprimands for engaging in similar misconduct.
As a consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the grievance panel punished Peter by gifting him with yet another complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (October 2012) Peter practices with Gray & Palmer at 6 State Street in Bangor, Maine.
On its website at www.grayandpalmerlaw.com, there is no mention of C. Peter’s misconduct. I guess Gray & Palmer determined if they told the truth about C. Peter on their website it might tend to limit their future victim pool.
