Attorney Amy Bateman of Metairie, LA; drunken, lying convict

The state of Louisiana presented Amy Elizabeth Bateman with a law license in 2005 after she graduated from Tulane University School of Law.

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Kevin guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Knowingly violated duties owed to the public, causing both actual and potential harm
  • Witness saw Audrey’s vehicle cross the center line and veer into oncoming traffic, drive onto private property, strike a parked, unoccupied vehicle, and then come to rest in a ditch
  • Police officers who responded to the scene detected an odor of alcohol on Audrey and placed her under arrest after she failed a field sobriety test
  • Subsequent investigation revealed that respondent was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, a .38 caliber revolver, and $19,880 in cash
  • Audrey was booked with DWI, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failure to maintain control, and simple possession of marijuana
  • Testing revealed that Audrey’s blood alcohol level was .144g%, nearly twice the legal limit in Louisiana
  • Committed criminal act adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Knowingly engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • While driving drunk had her 9-year old daughter in the car
  • Lied to state trooper that after the accident she took her daughter and went to a motel down the street and drank some booze while at the motel because there was no motel in the area

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Amy by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. December 2019) Amy practices at 1837 Fig Street in Metairie, Louisiana.
