Attorney Richard Oustalet of Jennings, LA; cheating slacker

The State of Louisiana presented Richard C. Oustalet with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Law.

The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Delayed resolution of client’s pending criminal matter
  • Abandoned client representation
  • Remained counsel of record on a client’s criminal matter while serving as an Administrative Law Judge of the State of Louisiana
  • Converted client funds for his own personal use (cheater)
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to take appropriate steps to protect client interests upon termination
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Revealed confidential client information
  • Engaged in conflict of interest involving current client
  • Charged or collected an unreasonable fee (cheater)
  • Failed to communicate basis or rate of fee and expenses for which the client will be responsible

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2019) Dick practices at 527 East Plaquemine Street, Louisiana.
