Attorney Steven Thornton of Bowling Green, KY; serial offender

The state of Kentucky presented Steven O. Thornton with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Salmon P. Chase Law School.

The Kentucky Bar Association found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to act with due diligence
  2. Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
  3. Dishonest and selfish motive
  4. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Stevie!)
  5. Charged an unreasonable fee (cheater)
  6. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  7. Intentionally lied to client (victim)
  8. Failed to refund unearned fees
  9. Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  10. Failed to provide client with required written fee agreement
  11. Failed to provide competent representation (Dufus)
  12. Engaged in a conflict of interest

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Stevie’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two (2) admonitions and one (1) complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on Kentucky Supreme Court the punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (June 2014), Stevie practices at 1011 Lehman Avenue in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
