Attorney Christopher Wiest of Crestview Hills, KY; ethical leprechaun

The state of Ohio presented Christopher David Wiest with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the University of Cincinnati Law School. The state of Kentucky provided Chris with a law license in 2005.

Disciplinary Counsel found Chris guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to disclose purchase of stock in company his client had hired his services to acquire
  • Concealed his intention to purchase stock from his client
  • Remained silent upon learning his client was moving forward with acquisition of company
  • Chose to remain silent when the SEC issued a subpoena compelling him to produce his client's confidential information
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Exhibited a dishonest and selfish motive by virtue of using confidential client information for his own pecuniary benefit
  • Disclosed confidential client information to the SEC without notifying the client
  • Made to pay $117,707 to the SEC in restitution for illicit profits and in penalties

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2017) Chris practices with Christ Wiest, Attorney at Law PLLC at 25 Town Center Blvd in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
