Attorney Daniel Lampson of Independence, KS; ethical leprechaun

 

The state of Kansas presented Daniel Heath Lampson with a law license in 2000.

 

The Kansas Disciplinary Board found Danny guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Failed to communicate with client
  2. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  3. Failed to abide by client’s decisions re: settlement of divorce case
  4. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  5. Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  6. Failed to respond to client request for information
  7. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Danny!)
  8. Failed to communicate basis for rate of fee to client
  9. Failed to safeguard client property
  10. Commingled client funds with personal funds
  11. Converted $16,477 of client funds for personal use
  12. Knowingly made a false statement of material fact
  13. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  14. Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  15. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  16. Bad faith obstruction of disciplinary process

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Danny by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. July 2014) Danny practices with the Southeast Kansas Public Defender’s Office at 200 Arco Place in Independence, Kansas.
