Attorney Stanley Juhnke of Hutchinson, KS; greedy loser

The state of Kansas presented Stanley Royce Juhnke with a law license in 1994.

The Kansas Disciplinary Board found Stanley guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to properly supervise non-attorney office staff
  2. Misconduct motivated by selfishness (greed)
  3. Engaged in a pattern of misconduct over many years
In one matter, Stanley thought it might be appropriate to employ Charles H. Hyter, an attorney who was disbarred after his conviction on a felony charge of income tax evasion. Shortly after Hyter was released from prison, Stanely hired him on a full-time basis. Initially, Hyter assisted Stanely in writing appellate briefs.

Eventually, Hyter’s duties including writing contract s, maintaining client files, meeting clients personally and by telephone, writing letters, preparing pleadings, and providing legal advice.

At the disciplinary hearing, Hyter testified that he had from 175 to 300 client conferences per year, and from 3 to 20 telephone calls per day while employed by Stanley.
Of course Stanely was fully aware that Hyter was engaged in the unauthorized practice of law; however, he help to facilitate such illegal conduct. In fact, Stanley had the chutzpah to actually bill his clients for the time Hyter spent at the same hourly rate that Stanley charged despite the fact that he paid Hyter as a law clerk.

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Stanley’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. Stanely previously received a complimentary admonishment for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As we speak (ca. January 2013) Stanley practices at 400 West 1st Street in Hutchinson, Kansas.
