Attorney Christopher Barnds of Overland Park, KS; ethical troll

The state of Kansas presented Christopher Campbell Barnds with a law license in 2012 after he graduated from Washburn University School of Law.

The Kansas Disciplinary Board found Chris guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Knowingly disobeyed an obligation under the rules of a tribunal (Up yours, said Chris!)
  • Engaged in conduct that is prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Engaged in conduct that adversely reflects on Chris’ fitness to practice law
  • Violated or attempted to violate the rules of professional conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Used means that had no substantial purpose other than to embarrass, delay, or burden a third person

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2024), Chris practices his so-called brand of law with Barnds Law LLC at 7400 College Blvd in Overland, Kansas.
