Attorney Joseph Borich III of Leawood, KS; ethical troll

The state of Kansas presented Joseph Raymond Borich III with a law license in 2010 after he graduated from the University of Kansas School of Law.

The Kansas Disciplinary Board found Joey guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct caused actual injury to his clients in the form of unreasonably increased attorney and other legal fees
  • It was Joey’s misconduct that caused injury to the legal system by wasting the courts' time
  • with pleadings and other filings that did not conform to the applicable court rules and orders
  • It was Joey’s dishonest conduct that injured the legal profession
  • Joey’s deflection of responsibility to anyone other than himself is not supported by facts or findings in the record
  • Engaged in gross misconduct
  • Failed to accept responsibility for his misconduct
  • Failed to terminate representation when required to so act
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Exhibited indifference to making restitution
  • Joey is required to refund the complainants $46,910 paid in attorney fees
  • Victims of Joey’s misconduct were vulnerable
  • Misconduct involved multiple rule violations
  • Exhibited a selfish motive in requesting additional flat fee payments after initially accepting client case on a contingency basis

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Joey practices his so-called brand of law with Joseph R. Borich III Attorney at Law at 4630 West 137th Street in Leawood, Kansas.
