The state of Iowa presented James L. Wagner with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

 

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

 

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

 

Jimmy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to act with due diligence in family law matter
  • Failed to respond to repeated calls from client
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

Jimmy’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Misrepresented (lied) regarding status of estate matter to trial court
  • Failed to promptly return unearned fees (cheater)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Jimmy!)
  • Failed to deposit unearned fees into trust account
  • Neglected client legal matters

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. June 2014), Jimmy practices with the Wagner Law Office at 349 East Ridgeway Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa.
