Attorney Lee Wilmarth of Decorah, IA; ethical goblin

The state of Iowa provided Lee Earl Wilmarth with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

The Iowa Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel found Lee guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Conflict involved significant risk that Lee’s representation of one client would materially limit his responsibilities to another client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Lee by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

And lastly, as one would suspect, Lee and his firm fail to mention the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving website at www.andersonlawdecorah.com. Apparently, they chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. August 2021), Lee practices with Anderson Wilmarth Van Der Maaten Belay & Fretheim at 212 Winnebago Street in Decorah, Iowa.
