Attorney Dean Stowers of West Des Moines; ethical dwarf

The state of Iowa presented Dean A. Stowers with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Dean Guilty of the following misconduct.

• Knowingly violated a court issued protective order
• Found guilty of contempt of court
• Engaged in extortionist threats
• Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on his fitness to practice law
• Engaged in an improper ex parte communication with a party represented by counsel
• Failed to take reasonability for his misconduct

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Dean by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
