Attorney Timothy Scherle of Sioux City, IA; ethical elf

The state of Iowa presented Timothy Albert Scherle with a law license in 1983.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Timothy guilty of the following misconduct.
  1. Failed to act with reasonable diligence (slacker)
  2. Failed to respond to repeated requests for information from client
  3. Refused to return client file to client after being fired
In one matter, Timothy represented a client regarding personal injuries sustained as a result of an auto accident.

After agreeing to represent the client, Timothy failed to take any further action in the matter. He also failed to respond to numerous requests for information from his client.

The client then fired Timothy and hired another attorney. Both the client and the new attorney demanded that Timothy return the client’s file to the client and/or the new attorney. Timothy refused to respond to any of the requests for return of the client file.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board punished Timothy by gifting him with complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. January 2013), Timothy practices at 507 7th Street in Sioux City, Iowa.
