Attorney William Boulware of Chicago; lying moron

The state of Wisconsin presented William A. Boulware with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found William guilty of the following misconduct.

  1. Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
  2. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  3. Willfully lied to ethics investigators

For a period of four years, William was employed as the legislative counsel for a Native American tribe. Bill’s last day of employment with the tribe was June 30.

Prior to June 30, William was in contact with the CEO of a development company involved in one of the tribe’s development projects. Bill and the CEO discussed Bill’s employment with a new company that was being formed to deal exclusively with Native American tribe property developments. Bill did not inform the tribe of these contacts but falsely told several coworkers and tribe members that he was looking for a job in Europe.

During the ethics investigation, OLR had obtained emails sent by Bill to the CEO of the newly formed development company. Bill made several statements to OLR investigators that he neither sought a position nor worked for the new development company before July 1, statements he knew were patently false.

In an effort to conceal his wrongful conduct, Bill told tribe members and employees that he intended to pursue employment in Europe when in fact he was negotiating to secure employment with the new development company.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Courts punished William by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
