Attorney James Brougher of Danville, IL; fraud aficionado

The state of Illinois presented James Lytle Brougher with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel has charged Jimmy with engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Dishonestly altered a deed without authority
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to client the purpose and effect of a "corrective deed"
  • Dishonestly altered and recorded a separate deed to benefit his clients
  • Filed a court pleading he knew was false by attaching two fraudulent deeds to the pleading

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Jimmy by cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Counsel.

As one would suspect, Jimmy and his do not mention the aforementioned misconduct on their website at www.danvillelawyers.com. Apparently, Jimmy and his firm chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting their future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. April 2020), Jimmy practices with Kesler, Nelson, Garman, Brougher & Townsley PC at 220 North Vermilion Street in Danville, Illinois.
