Attorney Jo-Ann Adams of Honolulu, HI; tax scofflaw

The state of California provided Jo-Ann Marie Adams with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law.

The California State Bar Court found Jo-Ann guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in multiple acts of wrongdoing
  • Failed to label checks and to maintain contemporaneous financial records of her client trust account
  • Failed to promptly cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Jo-Ann!)
  • Various versions of client subsidiary ledger submitted to the bar investigators contained internal inconsistencies
  • Failed file federal and state tax returns for three years
  • Failed to file various general excise tax returns over a several years

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the California State Bar Court punished Jo-Ann by gifting her with a complimentary 90-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2019), Jo-Ann practices with the Law Offices of Jo-Ann M. Adams LLLC at 411 Hobron Lane in Honolulu, Hawaii.
