Attorney William Kirby III of Columbus, GA; ethical troll

The state of Georgia presented William Leslie Kirby III with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from the John Marshall School of Law in Atlanta.

FYI: John Marshall is ranked as the 166th best law school in the country out of 202 ABA accredited schools.

The Georgia State Bar found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to appear at contempt hearing on client’s behalf
  • Failed to respond to multiple client information requests
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to perform necessary work on client matter
  • Failed to file notice of withdrawal even though he had no plans to represent client in appellate matter
  • Failed to respond to new counsel’s request for copy of former client file
  • Failed to respond to new counsel’s motion to compel his production of former client’s file
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Prepared final judgment and divorce decree but failed to file it with the court
  • Failed to respond to client request to refund unearned fees
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Billy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2020), Bill practices at 211 Ninth Street in Columbus, Georgia.
