Attorney Marc Soss of Lakewood Ranch, FL; ethical troll

The State of Florida provided Marc Jeremy Soss with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Samford University School of Law.

The Florida State Bar found Marc guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Represented client in guardianship matter pertaining to the client’s husband and as the surviving spouse of the decedent in the probate of the husband’s estate
  • Marc also represented the same client in seeking reimbursement from the client’s deceased husband’s trust for funds she expended for his care
  • During the representation, the client appointed Marc as successor trustee
  • Marc served the notice of the appointment as successor trustee on the interested parties and beneficiaries, but not on the court for approval or confirmation
  • Marc simultaneously served as counsel for the client and trustee of the husband’s Revocable Trust
  • Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
  • During the Bar’s investigation of the conflict of interest, Marc provided a PDF copy of a conflict waiver that he had altered at or around the time the document was requested
  • While acting as trustee, Marc disbursed funds that he was not legally entitled to use as he was not legally the successor trustee

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Marc by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

And lastlyas one would suspect, Marc fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.fl-estateplanning.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak, (ca. April 2024), Marc practices his so-called brand of law in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
