The DC Bar presented Alvin Gilbert Douglass Jr. with a law license in 1979.

 

The DC Bar Counsel found Alvin guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Alvin’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Moron)
  • Failed to pursue client’s legal objectives
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to act with reasonable promptness in estate matter

As a consequence of him misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Alvin by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

 

Alvin’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dufus)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to explain adequately terms of transaction whereby Alvin acquired a monetary interest adverse to his client’s interest
  • Faield to surrender client papers to client he was entitled too after being fired
  • Failed to take action to prosecute client’s personal injury claim against cruise line and allowed it to languish for two years
  • Failed to discuss alternatives regarding medical care providers’ medical treatments
  • Never provided theory of liability or settlement demand on client’s behalf
  • Failed to research applicable statute of limitations
  • Refused to return client’s file unless client signed a note confessing liability to Alvin on his claim for attorney fees

As a consequence of him misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Alvin by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
