Connecticut Attorney Workforce Infestation Rate

As we speak (ca. March 2012) there are approximately 20,000 licensed attorneys in Connecticut. By comparison, there are only about 11,500 physicians practicing in Connecticut. Put simply, there are at least 8,500 more lawyers than doctors.

The infestation of lawyers in Connecticut reminds one of the damage the folks in Connecticut suffer from in regards to the invasion of zebra mussels.

The citizens of Connecticut continue to suffer from an out of control birthrate among attorneys, which is among the highest in the developed world. Clearly, a reliable birth control device needs to be implemented to prevent unnecessary future births.

Let’s compare Connecticut’s attorney workforce infestation rate verses several other states as set forth in the textbox below. FYI: workforce population = Private non-farm employment per the U.S. Census Bureau.

I’m sure the rat associations, I’m sorry I mean lawyer’s associations will claim that there’s more lawyers in New York because of Wall Street. However, this can’t possibly explain that there are 2 ½ times more of them in New York then the six East Coast states listed above.

Clearly there is no justification for the infestation of attorneys in Connecticut. I’m sure the folks in Connecticut have as much affection for zebra mussels as they do for attorneys, right?
