Attorney Peter Bartinik of Groton, CT; liar, repeat offender

 

The state of Connecticut provided Peter J. Bartinik with a law license in 1967 after he graduated from the University of Connecticut Law School.

 

The Statewide Grievance Committee Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with candor in dealing with tribunal
  • Failed to act fairly when dealing with opposing counsel
  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to disclose client’s death to the court
  • Intentionally lied to opposing counsel that dead client was with her son and would therefore be personally executing stipulation regarding settlement

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Pete’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

 

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

 

As we speak (ca. May 2017), Pete practices in Groton, Connecticut.
